It feels like tonight
Right... I'm sitting here, wondering about what I'm wondering about, pretty Modern stuff, who knows? Maybe I'm a herald of a new age of pseudo-Modernism? :P Bullpoop la! Hahaha anyway, I've seen interesting things over the past month or so, wait.. make that the first half month of the new year.
The power of images. Really man, sometimes you just see something, and it leaves a real hard hitting impression on you.
The sight of that old lady sitting on the steps, next to the path by the roadside, it looked so sad to me, so forlorn, I couldn't help but wonder what she was thinking about.. Was she missing her youth? Or watching time fade by in the cars and vehicles speeding by? Was it about her family? Or fearing the process of aging?
I walked on feeling rather sad. I always wished I could do something to help all these people. I honestly wanted to just go over to her and sit there and talk to her. Sometimes, all the lonely people need are just a word or two to brighten up their day. Much regret now, I should have done it, it was the look in her eyes, that evoked that sense of sadness and grief. Time passing. Time past.
I told myself that whatever happens to us, its always God's plan, part of his grand design. Sometimes I wish things were easier on those around me. If I were to be the price to pay, why not? I guess not many people would share my views on this though, seeing how this world preaches self-interest. Who would suffer willingly just for another?
I know who would.
My saviour would. In fact he did, 2000 years ago, on a cross, with nails in his hands.
And he did it for a bunch of people who could never realise the depth of their own sins. He did it for those who didn't appreciate his act, people who would never accept him.
I doubt I could do what Christ did, but I believe the smallest thing we can do is to go out of our way to help another person, even if its just to put a smile on the person's face. I think the person's smile would be a reflection of the lasting impression we would have made on their lives. No matter who they are.

The next was with my ex when she got her O level results, she sat there, looking so jaded, so lost. Helpless. In need of help. What was I to do, but to put my arm around her and tell her everything would be alright? Hoping that just by being there, maybe I could make her feel better.
